My name is Andrew Altrichter and I am the founder of Marple Press LLC.
Like a lot of people I’ve always loved to create things. Before I could even write I was drawling comics and designing simple board games. In middle school I started designing mazes. In high school I designed a bunch of boardgames mostly about niche topics only suited for my friends. When I started college (as a film major) in the early 90’s, I made my first effort at designing a mass market board game. I even submitted it to a fast growing game company at the time, but they lost my prototype… and then the next prototype I sent them… and then the next prototype I sent them. At that point I stopped sending them prototypes.

In the years since, I would design games in whatever free time I would have…
Rainy day: draw a maze.
Sitting at the beach: try to invent a role-playing game.
Read about an interesting topic: how could I make it into a board game?
It seems like a waste to keep all this stuff in boxes buried in my closet. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of it probably deserves to stay buried, but some projects worked really well and should have the chance to be enjoyed by others. Why wait for someone else to publish them when I can do it myself?
With all this in mind, I launched Marple Press in the fall of 2014 with my first book: 1 Maze 1 Book. It is an epic sized maze taking up 81 pages and should challenge the most hardcore maze runner. It can be purchased on amazon.com.
More books, games and art projects are on the way!
Thank you for visiting the Marple Press!
